Okay, this is a small thing, but makes the game look a bit stupid...
I just scanned through the WOLF 490 system and just checked the composition of planets. I was kind of disappointed to find out that there is almost no variety in the composition of planets. Out of 14 of the high metal content planets 13 were 66.5% rock and 33.5% metals, and the one was 65.3% rock and the rest metal... wohoo...
And of course all the Icy planets had the exact same composition... You see my point?
I think this would add quite a lot of extra to exploration, if there was at least SOME variety in the planets' composition. I mean you could easily make it more detailed, like describe which metals exist and in what quantities. That could influence the amount of money you get from the exploration. And in the later expansions with planetary landing and hopefully some interaction you could use this data for planetary mining, claims, metal scanning and so on. Maybe you could introduce a composition scanner? And detailed composition scanner to actually locate the mineral/metal sources on the planet surface.
Abstract: So, my humble wish is for you to add more detail and variation in the composition of the planets, which would add both interest and value to exploration. I believe this would be one of the easiest ways of adding interest value to the game, especially exploration.
