Engineers Compromised Nav beacons are now impossible

Every time I go to one and open fire on a wanted ship, every single ship there opens fire on me. Doesnt matter that the NPC ship is not in a wing. Its like fighting the musketeers - all for one and one for all. No ship can survive that. Anyone have any success with the compromised nav beacons?
 
As compromised nav beacons are essentially the same as haz res sites, it's to be expected if you're worth shooting. ;)
 
Even pre 1.6/2.1 it was not advisable to enter a comp nav beacon with any of the following:

- cargo
- any amount of bounty
- pledged

But certainly now with the better AI and modded weapons you need to go in there as clean as a whistle if you want to be able to pick and choose your targets.
 
As said. Comp Nav is a no go with cargo. Nothing new there.
I use them as a good source for mats dropped by destroyed ships. )
 
My tip for engineer commodities, focus on the materials first and when you have them then you finish with the exact number of needed commodities and go straight upgrade to get rid of them.

The commodities are easy to obtain at the end (usually missions in the engineers system). Don't carry them needlessly around.
 
Yeah, about 30 tons of stuff for engineers that I am too much of a packrat to jettison. I managed to aggro almost every ship in there by firing on a lone wanted hauler npc.

Every pirate will attack you if you are carrying cargo, also if you are pledged to a power then every enemy PP agent will attack you on sight, especially since RES sites and compromised nav beacons are now pack full of them.

The commodities are easy to obtain at the end (usually missions in the engineers system). Don't carry them needlessly around.

"Easy" is a matter of perspective. Try relogging 100 times to get nano breakers, without any success.

While you are right, it is also dumb that pirates go into an automatic frenzy for a commodity worth 400 credits in many cases :p, Ironically they ignore stolen low temperature diamonds. The binary nature of NPC's really doesn't help this situation, the fact pirates spawn constantly to come scan you for your 1t of vegetables is just lame and place-holder :p

You should see player pirates. Sometimes they go frenzy even if you don't have any cargo.

I don't disagree, but it is how it is at the moment. And knowing how the game is at the moment, i'm just amazed how many people seem to think if they drop into a CNB or a Haz res carrying cargo there'll be left alone!
