The mist in those canyons really adds depth. Presumably that won't be in-game until the first atmospherics, next year or so

True. I haven't noticed layered mist on planets though, just distance-fog, but there are bugs preventing me spending much time on the surface, so I haven't explored enough of it to know.

Land on Ariel in the Sol system. Drive into a canyon. Enjoy your ingame mist
Places like that would be awesome to walk around in once we get the update that removes the extra strength superglue from our butts.
That bridge/tunnel reminds me of the way the first couple of levels looked in Jedi Knight II Jedi Outcast (Kejim outpost base I believe).
