Concerned about the balance implications of delayed transfer

what should the max delay be to avoid this issue?

Im concerned on the balance implications of having 100 minute delay in ship transfers.
Basically this is tool for griefing

A griefer can do a griefing loop with the delay in place. First he would transfer a combat ship in maia grief for 99 minutes and then just transfer his ship in CG location griefing players for 99 minutes. After that he could go for robigo or ceos and theres nothing a player can do to stop this. Explorers and traders will suffer and combat ships will be useless against this.

Same would happen if someone wanted to tank system influence. They could just transfer in mass and do their thing free of repercussion for 99 minutes (or shorter incase the system is in center of bubble)

Then theres the issue that its simply faster to build ship in system than it is to wait for transfer to happen.

In before the lock!

I'm not sure what you mean.

If transfer was instant, a murderer-hobo has even faster access to their murder ship.

Ship transfer is gonna be good for convenience.
But it's a double edged sword, the very same convenience is going to make it easier for murderers to get about too.
Delay or not.

simple delayed transfer turns ship transfer into weapon for griefing.
I think you'll find the heat meta did that already. :p

In any case, there is almost no actual Griefing in ED, so don't use that term. Lol

I think you are taking Griffers as the only factor relevant to the decision. It is clearly not. Griffers are part of the game and they will always find a way to grieff.

I myself hate combat. I'm not good at it but I love running from griffers and I always play open.

and ppl would have even faster way to get into countering this.

and delay wouldnt matter for the griefer. Since he is starting the grief once transfer is complete.
It will simply ruin traders day since he has no way to stop this from happening.
