I started this as a sort of lol post to another thread but it somehow turned out a rather "long" thing not being ontopic anymore.
There's a lot I want to say, English isn't my native language, actually writing stuff in a coherent way has always been hard for me as I just start about something and wander off in a completely different direction without noticing it so all I'm saying is, don't go all bonkers on this, it's meant as a "hell of a job so far Frontier, it's a great framework, now keep adding to it!" kind of post.
So there I started yapping about something, first trying to point out I wasn't trying to be negative about the game, in fact, that I was planning on a multi week exploration trip to "to be determined" in my Asp, also explaining how I'd keep it safe and have enough insurance + trading money left to convert the insurance Asp to full-blown trader to cover the loss if it went haywire.
(that's about the first 5 minutes of typing compressed into something alot smaller.
I then came to think about how I was getting ready for it, short story: T6 => trade => trade => trade some more, buy Asp, fit it for trading, trade more, feel like something else, fit it for combat, get some kills, doing good, try some Elite condas, never tried em before, 15-16 mill Asp with D6 shields, ez mode gimballed weapons as I didn't want to bother with aiming on my first elite conda attempt, 4 shield cells later conda goes poof. Me going HELL YEAH! Second conda, thuswhile being equiped with a chaff launcher, doing good, and thinking frak it, I'll just pop a shield cell if I need one, screw this chaff. It's not that it wasn't working, I just had to worry with it more than the occasional shield bank pop. So, shorter fight, one shield bank later, gone conda. Thx btw federation for giving me a federation issued mission making me loose rep with the federation altogether.
Anyway (u see how I almost went off track there
):
This is done by a mediocre combat pilot at best, with a ship that's hardly the best equipped for the job. Now there is the argument that pilot skill etc matters, true, but for an NPC ranked Elite, the best of the best, they don't feel like it. I get it that when a novice eagle pulls me out of SC he's not gonna pose a threat, whatever ship I have at the moment. This, Elite Anaconda, not so much of a threat either tbh.
Haven't seen much combat, but it doesn't really strike me as that hard, even with fixed guns on my 3rd run I did ok, bit wonky, but ok.
Bottom line, NPC AI does not meet expectation yet for me sadly enough, therefore I shall now refrain from combat and go live a solitary life in space for the next few weeks
