Lots of exploit discunions at the moment. I like it. It cleans the air and let FD know what people feel about the shady side of ED.

It's now time to confess your sins to Father Han_Zen. Which exploits or potential exploits have you used during your time in ED?

I'll go first:

- Just after release I exploited the fact that you could get 'Source Slaves' missions at stations that sold slaves, to get my Sirius permit in Avik.
- I have done plenty of relogging to get Meta-Alloys.
- I mode switched to get Modular terminals for Quent.
- I have probably mode switched to get long range smugling missions from Maia(Not quite sure about this one).

Definition of exploit: If you think it may not have been intended by the devs to work in the way you used it. It's a possible exploit.

Sure.

I fast tracked Bromellite while testing a mining exploit.

Too boring for me to use on a regular basis though.

I'll need a list of available exploits before I can tell you that since I don't know what most of them are and may be doing them inadvertently.

Played since gamma, the closest I've come to an exploit was bringing back a Python's hold of Sothis gold (before it was capped) to the bubble after I'd helped to create it in the CG. I've been able to tolerate people using the other short cuts so far, but this engineering one is pushing the limit for me now.

Edit: And I managed to get that special discounted Cutter after another CG.

Occasional mode-switching if I'm saving up ally hard for something. If ED isn't about the grind, then why prolong it? But 90% of the time I play the game as intended and just have fun.

I used Quince for my last bit of Empire rank, the shame :O

Not really, Quince is so boring. I'll not ever be back to it unless by accident.

If you define "exploits" by anything that has been marked as an exploit one day, including by salty community members, then here's the list:

- Quince planetary scans for Money and ranks,
- Sothis / Ceos for Money and ranks
- Wu giuiani for imp rank,
- Niu Hsing for fed rank
- passenger missions for explo rank
- playing the game for progress in general

mode switch to get some imp rep quicker. to be honest....i think I would have gone a little more bonkers if i COULDN'T mode switch. :). once you get your rep up with minor factions in one system.....then you are kinda trapped there to get good missions. being out in the rift for long periods of time got me no rep with anyone. had to make up the difference. that's how I justified it in my head anyway lol.

You sure about the passenger missions? I thought that was intended game play.

Oh, I see, I misread 'including by salty community members'...
