Confirmation wwhen abandoning missions

Please can we have a confirmation box when abandoning a mission?
Ive accidentally abandoned two or three now because the abandon button is so easy to click without thinking.
A 'Are you sure?' dialogue would have been very helpfull.

Same goes to jettison all cargo button, it needs double confirmation, etc not to be too sargastic, but removing of abandoning is cmplete fix to problem, let missions auto abandon in failure.

and in future try spend 10 seconds thinking what to do and when ;)

It is very easy to accidentally abandon a mission after reading up on the requirements, whether it's because of a controller slip (using a hat switch for example) or just not quite paying enough attention - and to be fair it's kinda user interface 101; any option with a negative impact should have a confirmation request.

Abandoning a mission is such a rare occurrence that adding a confirmation dialogue will not hinder anyone's play, and may stop someone from accidentally discarding a mission, with the loss of earnings and reputation that could occur - like I said, it really is standard UI implementation - negative effect; confirmation dialogue.

There should also be a block where if the ship you are in cannot dock at a given station, then it should show up exactly as if you didn't have enough cargo space. Either that, or let us transfer cargo so we can dock at those small outposts after having taken missions in our larger ships...

I've changed my mind. Yes, this hand-holding implementation should be instituted.

And then, after that, the next implementation should be a trigger guard of some kind to prevent ships from firing if the computer can compute a trajectory of an adjacent ship flying through the field of fire if that ship is an authority figure to prevent a bounty for shooting at cops.

And then, after that, the next implementation should be a trigger guard of some kind to prevent shooting at ships that don't have a wanted tag to also prevent a bounty on one's self in case of an accident.

And then, after that, the next implementation should be a block of some kind that you cannot enter a station if you haven't asked permission so you can't accidentally get shot for trespassing.

And then, after that, someone please change the game so that I can't accidentally fly into a sun because avoiding doing so myself would require effort and mindfulness.

And then, after that, the game needs to be changed so that I can't blow up my ship.

And then, after that, the game should be changed yet again so that I can't not make money.

Where does it end? This game has RISKS involved. You have to be paying attention. You can't just mindlessly faceroll the keyboard to play this game and I think NINETY PERCENT of the suggestions on this forum are nothing more than "I can't be bothered, please change the game so I can be lazy." I'm sorry if you take that personally. It's not intended to be taken personally. I am so bleeding sick of reading all these demands of things that should be changed because someone made a mistake and project the fault of the mistake onto someone else to be changed instead of them learning and growing from their mistake, themselves.

It dumbs down my game. It makes ME feel stupid. It removes risk from my game. It makes ME feel potato because foam padding has been put on anything sharp in my life because someone else did something dumb with something sharp in their own life.

From your post it's evident that it's not me taking things personally...

All we've suggested here is a simple UI confirmation, one that would have no benefit in terms of abuse, would not cause anyone any issues in terms of gameplay and would only benefit those who asked for it.

Lumping it in with hand-holding and arguing "and then, after that" is just over the top for a simple confirmation dialog that most people would never even see...

It would be placating a non-issue. It's giving the screaming kid a cookie instead of teaching them to stop screaming. It's rewarding people who refuse to make even a tiny bit more effort to avoid a situation that they put themselves in in the first place.

Agree, i think a confirmation for abandoning mission would be great please. Even if it rarely happens to me, i already misclicked while wanting to close the mission description. And if added, please make the default choice be "NO".
