Newcomer / Intro Conflict Zone + Reputation

I'm a little confused with the reputation mechanics, atm i'm fighting for the empire against some system defense ships in the conflict zones, the sides to choose from when i join the CZ are Mastoppolos Mining Incorporated vs Liberals of Sorbago, every time so far i've picked MMI and i've noticed on my rep page they are now unfriendly to me, my rep with the empire is going up and thats the main thing i want, but i don't understand why the guys i'm fighting for are getting y with me, strangely the guys i'm siding against don't seem to care at all, still neutral with no movement down.

Any info?

I'd kind'a like to know this as well.

Also is there anywhere we can got to know where the combat bonds are going on? Everyone told me to head for Eranin for the civil war happening ther, I get there nothing is happening. I also kind'a want to do imperial rep because I was thinking about one day getting a clipper.

But I do have to find a place where the combat is actually happening correct? And Eranin isn't a hotspot anymore?

Sorbago is the place i was playing around with conflict zones, but i've moved onto assassination missions now that i know i'm not getting any rep out of the conflict zones.

So, Combat Zones are out? what's the best way right now to gain Imp rep then? I was under the impression that the combat zones were a good way.
