conflict zone?

Go to the last tap of the right pannel, and you'll see something like "select faction" as the first option. Once you chose one, you'll be able to see which ship is on what side. You'll then be able to engage any ship of the opposite faction in the combat zone without having a bounty on your head. You'll get 3000c per ship in combat vouchers.

I am in one of these. kill for l the leaders of who ever. I can the ships some turn green . the other stay the same but nothing shows as wanted or enemy

A Conflict zone is a war between 2 of the Factions in the System.

You can read up on the two sides of the war to see who you would like to support In the Status tab to the right, and the influence sub menu 1 click right. There you can click on the two factions that say CIVIL WAR and read up just a little bit about who they are and what they do.. and maybe why. Choose wisely, choose randomly, it matters only to you what you choose to do.

Then, upon entering the conflict zone, you pick one of those factions to pledge for in the functions tab to the right panel, top selection. Pick the side you decided on, and go to WAR!

The faction you pledged for will be Green, and friendly, the Other Faction will be Red, and enemy. It is legal for you to attack and kill official enemy ships.. NPC or player alike. And you will not commit a crime nor gain a bounty in this battle. You will, however, earn a "kill bond" cash prize for each ship you destroy. Cash these in at a station in system, under contacts> War Bonds.Faction rep will also skyrocket.

So, in effect, welcome to the PVP zones of Elite Dangerous! :)
