Conflict Zones at...

Too bad fighting in conflict zones doesn't contribute any measurable amount to influence gain in the system.

Save yourself some time and effort and just go bounty hunting for more money. Or trade. Since trading will make you the most.

Actually, I kind of started liking it, now that the bonds are 3k and I have a Clipper.
I only pick on small targets, fighters, Eagles and Vipers. With 2x C2 and 2x C3 Beams I can kill about four or five of them per minute. Last session I was there less than an hour and made over 500k. I don't earn that much by bounty hunting (can't speak for others) Maybe I'm unlucky, but one Anaconda every half an hour will not cut it.

Only thing putting my off conflict zones are that you lose your bonds if you die. and lets face it, its hard to just leave one of those zones once your engaged. Its hard to quit while your ahead.

Now that's very easy to do in bigger ship.
Repairs are so expensive that it wouldn't be worth it, so usually when I just barely managed to keep my shields up, I tell myself I've had enough. :D

Unfortunately in this game you don't win wars by fighting in them, but hauling weapons for the AI to fight them for you.

It's like the game they dream about was a carebear paradise were everybody was flying T9 in solo mode going from A to B. Very boring, but their vision (or lack thereof!).

Whats the point of taking part? $3,000 per kill, even for Pythons and no influence on the outcome. killing pirates at RES is much more lucrative, plus less people shooting at you. Am I missing something?

This just might be more your style of game.

I backed the programmer on kickstarter a few years back. Guy works real hard at adding features to his space game.

It's like Homeworld but you control your ship directly, I like ;) Will bookmark it.

But I don't think it's unreasonable to think that killing enemy ships should affect the outcome of a conflict, FD seems to think that it shouldn't

And yet, trading will turn you multiple millions per hour as well as be more effective at influencing the outcome of a war. Because reasons.

not sure i agree..... i turned over 100k every 15 mins doing conflict missions....maybe i just struck lucky?

edit....yes i know this isnt millions but 400 - 500k per hour is a comfortable level considering its easy with stupid AI npc's?

And I pull a quarter million in about 8 minutes doing a bidirectional, single jump trade route in a Type 6. Once you get to a type 7, that would double.

No matter how you cut it, trading is the safest, easiest, and fastest way to make money.

if making huge ammounts of money is your reson detre then all power to you Commander, i was merely pointing out the validity of making decent credit in this way, a few hours game time and an Asp is easily within reach and from there.....who knows depending on the abilities of the pilot....

That is true, of course. It is also very boring. I prefer killing 500 warzone ships and see the influence raise by 1% upon bond turn-in before hauling tons of stuff on the unchanging routes. To everyone their own, I guess.

No, i don't think you're missing anything.

Tried a conflict zone for the first time tonight, had the same experience...pointless.
