So I have yet to encounter a system with conflict zones, and from what i've heard, for some reason there's literally only one system with them, Eranin. All the searching i've done hasn't shown any others. (If you can point me to a list of known systems with conflict that'd be radical). I was considering making my way over there because i've been making considerable profit from bounty hunting in my eagle, and I seem to be skilled enough in combat that I eradicated a player in a cobra who interdicted me and tried to kill me for my cargo (I didn't have any. He was a rather stupid pirate. I'm amazed that he was unable to shoot me down actually, given his ship is spades more expensive than mine)
My question is this: My reputation with the federation right now is unfriendly. This isn't intentional, it's just the issue players have been reporting where failing a mission moves your reputation down collossally more than completing the mission raises your reputation up, and I encountered a mission that I literally could not complete because the system it took me to did not spawn any unknown signals. Partially I want to go to conflict zones to make money, but I also want to get my reputation with the federation back up. From what i've heard, when you arrive at a conflict zone you choose the faction to fight for, but when you kill the opposing ships does your reputation rise with the faction you chose and lower with the faction you destroyed?
Also: What the heck is a distress call? In the FAQ I kept seeing "Conflict zones and distress calls" in a lot of posts, but i've never even heard of a distress call other than there. Is it a feature that wasn't implemented?
