Conflict Zones have their own materials

I found something interesting last night. Different materials drop in conflict zones compared to resource extraction sites. Which makes picking them up rather difficult.

The first ship I shot dropped:

  • Electrochemical arrays
  • Conductive ceramics
  • Thermic alloys

I've been dropping into degraded emissions signal sources as well and had never seen these materials there or in a Res. I had been looking for electrochemical and conductive ceramics for a while. I think it dropped other unusual materials as well but I was rather pressed for time. I needed to deactivate my beam laser to activate my cargo hatch on my Vulture and grab what I could before another ship started shooting at me. It was particularly bad running off when I lost all power because I didn't switch off my cargo hatch.

I found it useful to attack one ship and then immediately fly off so it would follow me. I could then destroy it alone away from the crowd and pick up the pieces. I took a lot of damage each time. In hindsight I should have probably flown backwards shooting at it while getting away from the crowd.

In the end I abandoned the mission to kill 28 ships in the CZ because I didn't want to become unallied with the faction I was fighting against. So I need to find another one in another system before I can see what else gets dropped.

This stuff is not related to a CZ but to ship type military vessel. You also could go into a high security area and shoot at the military police vessels there, to find this kind of stuff. Unlike in the CZ you'll get bounties for that of course and the faction won't be amused about your doings.

I did wonder whether it was ship based but I have shot the same ships before in Resource extraction sites and get the same materials each time. The moment I go into a CZ I started getting a range of different materials.
