Conflict Zones in VR look INCREDIBLE (suggestions for other ideas wanted!)

I'm actually going to do a series of short videos demonstrating awesome things to try in VR. Please feel free to make suggestions.

p.s. sorry about the screwed up annotations. Only realised far too late.

Getting as close as you can to a planet with a ring system, then aligning the star so that it just cusps the planet and shafts light across the asteroid field and then turning off flight assist and floating through the asteroids. I've done this standing up in my Asp just looking around, every now and then a huge asteroid slowly floating by.. it's a pretty amazing feeling and one of the best VR experiences i've had in the couple of years i've had VR headsets.

All of the above and of course I love turning off the hud completely and barrel around the a planet in the srv.

Bigger the cliff face I can jump the better :)

Strip, that was one of the first things I did. I remember, it was at Vega. No wait, I did it before that, at one of the Lave systems, the one with the huge molten planet with rings really close to its star.

So glad Elite is just constantly adding more stuff to do.

Love these threads!

I think one needs to get an eagle. And if they haven't done this yet already
Learn how to fly FA Off. (If I can do it, anyone can. I recon you need a cheap HOTAS - I don't worry about curves. To begin with, don't even contemplate combat!) Elite instantly becomes a totally different game iyam and it when you fly a big ship with FA On you feel like you are flying a vast UFO with its super smooth flight!

Then canyon run
Fly around outputs strafing onto the land pads

When I introduce people to VR. I position my ASP as close as I can to an earth-like. Always blows them away they put on the HMD. :)

Combat zones? Man, go to some mining zone, specialy with icesteroids (ice asteroids) around some gas giant in a lakon ship and chase some pirates...

I still get a huge kick out of going to a RES.
I feel like a shark looking for hapless swimmers as I dodge between asteroids looking for prey.

Totally agree with the points about flight assist off. Whenever I just want to feel like I'm right there in a ship in space, turning FA off, a small throttle and a tiny amount of roll really makes the friction-free drifting in space feeling kick off. Especially if there's some nearby objects outside the cockpit.

Not so great for a video though. Perhaps a friendly flight assist off destruction derby style canyon run might work better there.
