Confused as hell by Exobiology and the DSS

Everything on my heat map / DDS is blue. Some areas are light blue some dark blue and others are just a solid colour blue same as the rest of the planet.

Am I correct in thinking I am aimming for the DARK BLUE zones? The planet has 1 biological source which I am assuming means there is 1 type of life form not just one area?

Will the planets and life forms appear on my SRV wave scanner too?

The shade of blue is more about the underlying terrain. Yes, 1 source is one type, not one spot.

In theory anywhere within the blue should be fine but there are sub-biome requirements which don't necessarily show up, so if you don't see any after a bit of slow low-altitude flying - bacteria are especially hard to spot - try somewhere else.

Most life forms do not appear on the wave scanner, unfortunately.
