Congrats to Frontier on a nice CG this week!

I wouldn't really call it fun. It may have put me off for life from Discovery Exploration. I swear I can now FSS scan any system, map anything at any distance in my sleep. Absolutely mind numbing. I now have a perfectly unequalled knowledge of any freakin' Armonia World in the ED universe.😵
Yeah. The one time I took a multi-month break from ED it was as the result of burnout from a previous exploration goal. Having the optimal strategy be setting an economic route to a distant point, honk-jumping as fast as possible without even checking the results, then flying back to hand in, was incredibly unpleasant for me.

This one is way better than previous exploration goals in terms of mechanics and activities, even if there is still room for improvements, in that mapping is valuable and mindless honk-jumping is not.

I actually love just jumping, scanning, mapping or just checking out planets and their surfaces, phenomena etc. But at a leisurely pace. It's the time constraints on these kind of CG's, I think you miss so much in just doing the activity. Almost becoming a grind.

Bruce Lee said something like "Don't concentrate on the finger (pointing) or you'll miss all that heavenly glory" or something like that, lol. That's how I usually look at Exploration, not just blindly scanning & moving on to the next thing to scan.

I don't think burnout will set in as a result of this CG but it's pretty close.
