and yea it is pretty cool, cant wait for beta myself - i'm itching to play.

my only problem is how to tell my landlord they won't be getting the rent this month so i can play alpha :D

Thank! Personally, I plan to play both. Elite was my first love back in the 80s with my C64, and then later I enjoyed the heck out of the WC series. It's a great time to enjoy space games.

Oh - if only this had happened earlier.

I've given a few peeps a bit of a nudge towards Alpha - but I'm ******ed if I'm spending 200 quid per peep.

There is a limit to random generosity you know :(

I am also over there as a backer and here as an Alpha person. It is amazing the change in attitude once people started to see game play footage.

There is room in the Universe for two great Space Sims. Star Citizen and Elite!

Amen Brother, Amen. I only didn't back SC because a) My wife barely tolerates E: D and b) Forced to chose, Elite is /my/ nostalgia game. I'm sure the opposite is true for a lot of SC folks who chose SC over E: D.

There was another thread on RSI forum with first alpha impressions that was nuked. Now this new thread was nuked. How come? Are forum watchdogs being jelly? :)))

I also backed both... E: D for nostalgia from the C64 and SC from CR's early games and both because CR and DB's attitudes and dedication to producing top notch quality games and their vision!

Long live the Space Sims!!! :D

I'd honestly like less competition from the community. At some points, the sheer ...hate... (or rather, clueless dismissal?) from SC's forums on elite is a bit heartbreaking. There is very definitely an "us vs them" feeling over there, and the notion that only one game must "win"...

That said.. backed both, ofc, and want to play both ^^
