There are some major misinformations in that rant.

First: all Triple Elite groups have those Skype calls. There's even a group with all of them as far as I know.

Second: that free Lance report you're refering too was submitted by a throwaway. We don't know if it was submitted by a Rat or not. I myself wrote an Email to Ian Dingwall, in which I tried to keep that report from being accepted exactly because it was on the wrong side of the naming and shaming policies.

Third: Why are you thinking the Devs gave it to us? It was designed by the Fuel Rats Mischief, we asked FDev and got it as reward for 10000 rescues.

Why do you assume that we have special relations to frontier and are preferred?

We can't even get support in game for player group tags, that the leaders of a group can assign and this group gets their own special decal. All I can say is wow. Nice favoritism FD.

naming and shaming? its a game for goodness sake. i enjoyed the galnet thingy and in fact these sort of news updates put life into the universe. hell, name and shame me, sign me up, would i love all that pirate glory!


also yes reffering to the OP: i think ed should let us create decals. moderate them, make a csgo like system, whatever - just let us have more options!

Plus also, that the Fuel Rats are going above and beyond to help other players. Personally going on selfless crusades to help someone stuck out in the fringes for no in game rewards.

Hopefully FDEV think about ways to help groups like the FR's develop, and, to brainstorm mechanics to help track rescue targets.

There's nothing stopping other groups going above and beyond to help others for similar recognition. I dare say if anyone has ideas and suggestions to add value, then they'll equally be on the radar.

(and no, I'm not meaning euthanasia squads either, they're ten-a-penny) ;) :)

The GalNet article was edited later. There was the CMDR name of the attacker in the original submission.

(but us Distant Worlds travelers got group specific insignias a little while ago. I'm not saying we should be first, but we were.)

I almost feel guilty about using my BETA backer only Wireframe paintjob now best I get out of my Cobra III into my dangerous only Cobra IV

Firstly: Yes, you and the other Triple elite groups have those conversations. And how many triple elite groups are there vs. Regular groups?

Secondly: Who published it or not is a moot point. The fact stands we've got a galaxy wide article published which is tantamount to naming and shaming.

Thirdly: as you say yourself you asked the devs for a custom decal, and they gave you it, whereas other groups haven't the access to your lines of communication to request similar things.

Absolutely deserved. But unfortunately I also think it looks horrible on that screenshot.

edit: also I would rather call these things a precedent for getting more, yes you too have a chance for your own decal now :p
