Connection Issues with ED. Again.

Engage supercruise to leave a planet. Immediately kicked to a lost connection notification with some weird, cryptic code before being booted to the main menu.
Log back in. Engage supercruise again. Game then gets "stuck" for nearly a minute in the transition going into supercruise. Finally recovers. About two minutes later, game abruptly loses the connection before kicking me to the main menu again.
Tried logging back in again. Ship hologram revolves multiple times before kicking back to the main menu yet again. Usually the ship holo will spin just 1/2 revolution before the game loads.

Every time this happens the server is available in the menu and I'm able to immediately log back in again.

Not the first time this has occurred. I've only been playing ED for about three weeks.

This is getting tiring.

Playing multiple online games for years, with no connection issue. Come to ED (and only ED) and all of a sudden it's like a I have some crappy third-world internet connection.

I love this game and especially the setting, but I don't have the patience for this.

Would you mind posting your PC specs?. People will be more likely to answer the more info you provide.

Went back into the game a couple of hours later. Game loaded quickly and it ran flawlessly for hours.

Ok.

I appreciate that, but now I will always have this creeping suspicion that the game is just going to dump on me at any moment. :D

As far as my hardware spec are concerned, I can run the game full slider (exepct ambient occlusion - I saw only negligible difference with it so I turned it off) and still maintain a consistent 60fps, and my internet is 500mb/sec with Cat.5 - not the absolute best but more than enough to handle online gaming.

Sadly the state of the internet is not entirely dependent on your connection. Doesn't matter how good it is where you are but if it's crap in Ireland (where I think their Amazon servers are) is still going to be crap.

correct amazon ecs web services Ireland is host and has been since launch 2013 Its funny, but back then a hell of a lot wanted an offline game only with updates and threw there toys out of the pram when they found out is was online only...……………..
I would argue it acctually is offline what with no centralised server like planetside and players relying on peer to peer(there own isp to connect to others) that just about manages two winged players and not very well by the time the game has sorted a common instance...…...
itsa online offline game that's well er'm online:D

I get that. The quality of the connection is only going to be as good as what you're talking to, which allies to my suspicions.

Was just addressing Saltyseadog's query.
