Horizons Consequences of the Barnacle hunt at Jacques.

The barnacle hunt has been a great addition that has brought players together and deepened the story line that frontier are progressing through, with the re-appearance of Jacques station and the location in which it is, many people assume that barnacles will be found in the various surrounding nebulae, we think this for many reasons, but mostly, we think this because, as players we can only see the cards that are given to us by frontier, inconspicuous and ambiguous as they may sometimes ( more like mostly ) be. This presents a problem, I'd go to the extent that it is a fundamental error of communication between Frontier and the players. What if after, for example, a month, we find out that the barnacles never existed beyond the nebulae where they've already been found currently, you may say that if they've been found there, then surely they can be found everywhere, now I won't go into detail for why that might not be the case, what I will say is that it has a lot to do with Barnard's loop, and the convenient locations barnacles have been found.
I digress as that isn't the subject of this post. Right now many players are searching for barnacles in the nebula near Jacques, this is a massive undertaking, requiring days and days of searching, time put into the game that we as players feel compelled to do for the betterment of the story that we'd like to think we're shaping.
Frontier know if there is or is not barnacles out there, think for a second if after a month we find out there isn't. A months worth of searching for small objects, barely discernible from rocks across planets close to the size of earth or bigger. All that time, wasted. We didn't know there was none out there, how could we, we went off of a gut feeling and self justification. But Frontier knew, and they let us search fruitlessly anyways. Why? Couldn't that time have been put to better use? We know that the thargoids are out there, but you don't see expeditions out looking for them, why? because Frontier has not lit the spark that tells us ( indirectly ) that now is the time to look for them. Frontier has, perhaps accidentally, lit the spark to search for barnacles out in Jacques. This is a video game, the time that players put into the game should be important to Frontier, all I ( and i assume more ) would like to see is a little acknowledgement, a post on Galnet news saying that the Canonn research group have proved through some research that barnacles can be found anywhere in the galaxy, or on the flip side that barnacles can only be found in certain nebulae surrounding the bubble, this doesn't have to be immersion breaking, just a little hint to tell us we're not wasting our time.
Time to throw in some Bias. I've spent three days meticulously scouting out planets that meet the criteria to hold barnacles. Recording entire planets in photos so as to make sure that I don't retrace my steps. I'm prepared to do this until a barnacle is found or until we learn that they were never out here to begin with. I will never leave this game, I may take breaks from it but I will never leave as the work that has been put into the game is beyond compare, but if it turns out that we were wrong, and barnacles aren't out here, and Frontier didn't let that information slip, it might be time for another break.

There are several barnacles manually placed there by Frontier in the Pleiades. True.
But other than that, barnacles naturally occur in nebulae, just like any other POI objects. So unless Frontier manually placed some near Jacques, they know the same we do - barnacles COULD be there, somewhere.
Barnacles have been found in several nebulae, already, not just around Maia, so we could assume that there is a chance they are in every nebula, or at least in more of them than where they've been already found.
