Having a hard time finding relatively new videos on farming conservation points and money.
Back in the day it was basically a bare bones zoo with a puppy farm so to speak.
I haven't played in a very long time and I'm looking for the most up to date method(s).
Start with just a few exhibit boxes and spend as little money as possible. Fast breeders are good for cash - beetles, amphibians, scorpions. Once each box has a healthy population set them to automanage, selling older members for cash.
You should be in profit as soon as you open your zoo. If you're not, you have too many staff. You don't need vets, security or educators yet.
Add a walkthrough exhibit - butterflies or bats. Increase your ticket price. Don't forget donation bins! Keep everything within the starting power zone for now to avoid energy costs.
Slowly expand to ensure guests are happy and their needs are all in the green, add a little education here and there (but not an educator yet).
Build your first habitat. Keep it small; larger animals and carnivores have much higher food costs. I recommend a mix of wallabys, kangaroos, quokkas and koalas. They are all happy to live with one another and your guests can enter, which makes them very happy. Quokkas have the highest appeal:easy to keep ratio. Spam donation bins. Add education signs. Jump up the ticket price.
Watch the guest management tab - the guests thoughts about the ticket price should always be yellow / "fair". Also watch the facilities tab to check which facilities are making profit or loss. Toilets are a necessary loss. Don't bother with vending machines, they tend to make a loss.
Your marsupials will breed quickly and you can trade or release the offspring for ccs. Keep animal aging to the standard x1 rate and fast forward. Pause every year to do a check up on everything and within a few years you should have lots of money and be farming ccs.
Keep going, expanding habitats slowly, always adding exhibits as you go. You can increase your staff size bit by bit, and add perks to staff rooms to improve performance (Rec Room is great).
Decorate to your heart's content, it's not expensive and costs no upkeep

staff and animal food are your highest overheads; donations are your biggest source of profit. Happy guests give more.
This is tried and tested 1000 times. That may be a small exaggeration, but hey
Have fun!
