Conservation rating help

How can I improve the red status (conservation rating) to get 5 stars?
When I realise animals to wild, it's always 1 star, and I don't know how to improve it.

I think it's not just releasing animals into the wild but also breeding different species in your zoo. If you only breed one or two species and keep releasing them the rating won't go up as fast as when you breed several differnt species, so you'll have to release a lot more animals before the rating goes up. And afaik the conservation status of the animals also matters, like you get more points when you release a Polar Bear than a Peafowl for example.

At least in challenge mode I got up to 5 stars just from having a load of recycling bins everywhere. I think conservation education boards may help too, but I’m not certain? But this was in a zoo that didn’t have many different (or endangered) species by the time it reached 5 stars for conservation.

Whaaaat? Didn't know recycling bins help towards the conservation rating. Thanks for the tip!

Oh right! If the bins actually work that way you might wanna try renewable energy sources like solar panels and wind turbines as well. Pretty sure if recycling bins give a boost to conservation then they will, too.

I got a huge jump in conservation rating just by changing my power sources to solar panels instead of transformers. They have a smaller range, but you can put them everywhere and guests don't mind seeing them so they are totally worth it to research them early on.
