Developers need to work on adding substantial content to horizons to save the game. There’s nothing for the older players to do, the game is practically dead on consoles and it doesn’t look like odyssey will resurrect the game if consoles even get that extension. Poorly planned game at this point. Good luck in the future fdev but as for me the game is dead at the moment.

I get what you're saying, but they won't add any more content to Horizons unless it also improves Odyssey. At some point, they're going to merge Horizons with Odyssey, so from their perspective, it doesn't make sense to try to keep up with two different versions of the same game much less add content to a version that's going to be merged with a newer version. Whether consoles are included in that merger, who knows? At this point I don't believe they really know either.
At this point it’s a dead game. All we really have to bet on is Starfield from Bethesda.

It's all the same content we had and enjoyed before Odyssey. Just because Odyssey came out doesn't mean there isn't still content available, there just isn't going to be any new content. Just because you don't enjoy the old/current content doesn't mean others can't.
New players sure can but there’s nothing but Raxxla left for me to find and that’s it, there’s so much potential that fdev are leaving stale. Where’s the content?
They’ve had so much time to develop this content and unlock these regions in the galaxy for us to go explore but no, it seems they’ll never have content ready to unleash for the community. I just think it’s a shame.
I get it, once you get all the engineers unlocked and do all the things, it does start to feel stale. They're not going to add any new content for Horizons though. The best we can do is sit and wait for Odyssey to potentially come to console. I've gotten to the point of decommissioning my FC and kind of parking at a station. I do jump in every once in a while now to do a few missions or whatever.
They won't (and I would argue SHOULDN'T) begin developing a console version of Odyssey until the game runs acceptably on comparable PC hardware to the ninth gen consoles. This will probably coincide chronologically with hardware sales reaching a worthwhile point where a dedicated ninth gen client is a viable investment. At which point we can expect the 8th gen Horizons only version of the game to be phased out by some time in 2023 or so. I don't see them developing more than just stability and bugfixes for that version in the intervening period.

I've been playing since day 1 of xbox GPP and iv never been bored, the beauty of this galaxy is you play it your way, not a dictated story line, you decide what you do and when. There is still so much undiscovered stuff hidden away you just need to look to find it. The clues are always there to find new things to do.
I've done alot in this galaxy but I no where near exhausted what is available.
Just because someone owns a vette and a fleet carrier does not by any means mean they have completed the game.
Hell I've racked up more hours than my teenage apprenticeship flying about this galaxy and I've not come close to completion or boredom

Personally I really don't want fdev to tinker with EDH . It's as good as it gets . It's not perfect but hasn't been for years .
