Console Performance

Hello Jens,

Are the devs aware of the performance issues that affected larger and more detailed parks back in last gen consoles? With this sequel bringing in better graphics and larger maps, are there measures being taken to improve said performance on those consoles?

Game is being released on older gen, it can't be that taxing. Having said that, some official system requirements would be nice.
 
In my experience, my original PS4 only really struggled with high density areas, the fact things are more spread out this time might make for a better experience (they use simplified models for when things are further away).

I'd also fully expect build and dino limits.

What's this about "simplified models in the background"? I haven't read anything about that.

It's just something done for optimisation in games generally, using models based on distance from the camera, you can kind of tell in the Brachiosaurus field guide looking at the trees in the background.
