ED has always been a favorite of mine but I took a break from it and eventually quit playing console games, sold my Xbox and have been exclusively PC. My question is will I need to have access to an xbox/ xbox account to initiate a transfer request when it is a available? I can log in to my account via xbox PC app but console access is not an option.

There is bound to be some anti fraud for Physical version as it can be gifted and shared an sold ... As there offering a Free game on PC... give the physical disc to 20 friends install and play then get free PC version on transfer...

Digital will be locked to the account.... should not need any verification you are a number to microsoft not a person and fdev will link your number from the microsoft account to Fdev account to the copy and then Block any other transfers after your free copy to another PC account...

I’m basing this off what occurred for Elder Scroll Online…everything that needed to occur was done online on the developers website. You will need to have access to your xbox profile tho meaning at least the gametag and password. I also assume you would have needed to link you xbox to the Frontier initially

Yep digital will be a cake walk. Physical is where there will be problems. As people will be feeding the cake to the ducks..
I wish I would have waited. I transferred mine from console, to PC, right around Odyssey era. Only kept the $$ and lost everything else. Had thousands of hours in the game, between 2015 and 2021. All Federal, Imperial and independent permit systems were unlocked, triple Elite, one of each large ship (had two Cutters), carrier and a million light yea'rs worth of jumps/ exploration...kudos to those who didn't jump the gun!
Credit transfer for the price of wiping your Xbox CMDR has never made sense to me.
I'm glad I waited and I can now get the purchased items transferred to the PC. However, I already have a PC account, same name as the Xbox one, and I've asked this question;
but, as yet, I've not received a reply or answer to it.

I know someone on the PC with 4 accounts and 2 of them he's reset a few times.
If you have any images or streams of or starting at the main menu, all you need is the FID from the console and PC.

I already have a PC account can the xbox account stuff be transferred to the already existing PC account or do I need to create a NEW Account/CMDR on the PC for everything to be transferred to?
There is another post or maybe just a comment somewhere which confirms it would be a copy so folks like yourself and myself would have what reads as two PC accounts. My question is how do I access Odyssey on the copied account.

It was Arf in the livestream who made the comment regarding an extra copy. However he was contradicted by one of the Customer Support Agents who said it would be an overwrite if we had a pc account.
As yet we haven't had confirmation which is the correct statement. My guess would be the livestream after U12 at the earliest.
