I don't understand why we have to deal with this. Purple Python, Blue Cobra, and I think even a Mauve Adder in there occasionally for some flavor... I've read up on the official responses to these, and I'd accept that there is something wrong with MY connection except for me and my friends ALL get these errors multiple times nightly. We've been having an amazing time bounty hunting, but no matter the group make-up, no matter the region of the players, we all experience these issues and just suck it up because we love the game so much.
Frontier: this is not a new game, this is not a new problem... why can't this be resolved? Tonight, I finally gave up because I'd been disconnected 3 times in 20 minutes or so, my friend had disconnected twice, and one time, after dropping on a wing mate's wing signal to assist with a Threat 6, me and one wingmate sat there waiting for the networking to update while the 3rd wingmate fought the entire thing by himself...we even jumped to supercruise and dropped back, but all we saw was his wing signal... then I was disconnected again as I jumped into supercruise, and I just quit.
I truly appreciate all the hard work you're putting into new content, and I'm excited for it... hell, I wasn't even in the camp that bitched about the fleet carriers during the first beta... I was a borderline apologist. However, there's something to be said for the way you just seem so apathetic about your player base experiencing these connection issues constantly. It's very disheartening. I love Elite. I play it daily with a group of guys that also love it. It's 2020, and the networking is worse than games I played in the early 2000's. I even understand the limits on wing sizes and multi-crew options to an extent, but i cannot fathom how you allow your game to be so half-baked when it comes to network reliability.
It doesn't matter if its on the servers that you lease to run the authentication and adjudication systems, it doesn't matter if it's some client-side bug... and it cannot be blamed on clients' routers/connections because it's so extraordinarily pervasive. You're pushing a new paid update in early next year, yet we have to deal with this on a daily basis, and anytime we say anything about it, you blame OUR connections. When we are all having the same problems repeatedly, even if it's some common networking problem on the users' ends, it has become your problem due to the seeming ubiquity of the issue. I don't care if it takes a full network code audit and rewrite, it's borderline unforgivable. I literally hesitate from offering new players to join in with me for multi-crew sight-seeing or bounty-hunting because it's such a massive headache, and honestly, it's an abysmal experience for a new player to have to deal with... I don't want to turn them off to the game by having to constantly fight the crappy networking problems that us veterans just "deal with" on a daily basis.
Please, I am begging you, figure this out.
