Have been in wing with several different people in several different private games over the course of two nights trying to fly as a wing and we had a hell of a time trying to pirate hunt as a group.
It happened differently each time, sometimes the player whose instance mission signal source we dropped in on would crash, sometimes it was the other people who would, sometimes it was upon jumping back into supercruise, sometimes it was upon jumping back into system. We also all experienced a mass of in game mail telling us that each of our wing missions had a failure at the nav beacon, both before and after we had even been to the nav beacon to scan.
I was pretty debilitating as a DC/Crash/Purply Python would occur in the group about every 2-5 minutes.
We came to understand it was something to do with the wing missions trying to ping updates from the server. Any thoughts on how we can fix or get around not being able to group up and do wing missions together?
Edit: now its happening today again but in solo play. I am assuming it has to do with the amount of people in and around the systems I am in with their ships and carriers. And so if that assumption is correct then there is literally nothing to be done about it, its all just server side stress
