So I just got back into the game again - I have no bounties and a neutral reputation with the empire and alliance. Anywhere I go (and I do mean anywhere, outside stations even) I get attacked by "Federal Agent". I have had my ship blown up so many times I had to downgrade, losing several weeks worth of hard work. I cannot play this game anymore as I can't survive ten minutes. Any attempt to complete even the most basic mission results in me being interdicted (as many as 10 times on the way to the same point) by "Federal Agent" and then summarily blown up. I tried to dock at a high security station just now and "Federal Agent" pops out of nowhere and launches something in the vicinity of 180 missiles at me, right in front of the station. This caused the station to return fire at Federal Agent, but I still got blown up. What is going on here? I am getting to the point where I am considering giving up and waiting until the devs decide to make the game playable again.
Federal Agents are powerplay ships. Are you pledged?
Heck yes. Powerplay is like painting a giant target on your back to everyone of all other powers. Now with the enhanced AI you dont want that unless you *really* want combat. Lots and lots of combat. If I were you I'd just unpledge, and powerplay NPCs will let you be.
Thank you for your advice! I did unpledge a while ago and so far it has been smooth sailing. Things are back to normal! I agree on the note regarding reform, that clearly is a bit unbalanced perhaps, but I can see the idea behind it. Once I'm in a more powerful ship and maybe have a wing I can see it as a fun way to increase the difficulty, until then I'm going to keep my white flag flying proudly.
