Hi guys, Playing this game for 10 months now, a lot of work put into it, mechanics grahics and of course exact ( with little variations) to our own galaxy.
Understanding the mechanics behind it would be quite complex with a hell of a lot of work put into , i take my hat off to that.#
BUT, Content and just simple content at that is seriously missing . big game, big galaxy and alck of content.
My explanation: This game and most games should simpoly be fun , exciting , misterious and definatly some oohs and wows along the way but so far there arent any.
We have factions in the game that should have a lot more involvement with players dependant on their interaction with each other.
We do have Myths and legends and yes they should be hard to find but findable even with hints within the game itself ( related quests , information on stations, blackboxes in space or planets, even data packets treated as treasure maps) As it is finding anything in this game can be damn hard, i could say unless you are in the loop with the dev team but i wont as there are groups who are constantly looking and loving planet searching but for some of us we really dont have all the time to search a hole planet.
My thinking is that there should be factions from previous games elite , elite ii etc that should be more interactive amd varied quests not the same stuff all the time.
Better search engine for systems and planets which dont have to show the object you are looking for ( e.g it is rumoured pirate redface was hunted in the leesti system and destroyed but some say he maanged to survive long enough to crash his ship the blackbeard on planet 3c but it was never found) If you went to that system and scanned said planet instead of showing the blackbeard location maybe "unknown shiptype" Pirates modifications etc . yuo land find whats left and a data box , once scanned it gives a poem, or a criptic clue to were redface's great treasure was burried.
I know we have new explorer tools and codex coming which might answer some of the above. But the basic idea of the make believe quest above could be applied within the game on many levels, factions, profession , lore and would go to adding a far better content and enjoyment for all. I do understand there is complexity in creating things within the game but thats up to the dev team to look at and maybe figure out a way to add stufff like this to the game.
Another point is with the latest thargoid story / narative. Some gamers have not been aware of the hole thargoid story line as there is not much information within the game itself but mainly posted by ED hosts who frollow the game on their youtube channels, the ingame news system could do with an overhall and understtood galnet is getting that but a little more including the station / system news freds, maybe some news of interest hilightede or linked in with the codex?The story has been drawen out and getting quite long with gaps inbetween so anyone following it could lose interest. there needs to be a bit more pase or consistancy and probabvly being drawn out a bit to get to the beyond release. I hope for later content the hole story and narative ( currently the story does not have any narative, it is not plain to see) For example if this story so far was a book i would be lucky to get to 10 pages before i flung into the corner to gather dust. So i ask that all future story's / content have a bit more concideration and developement: progress, fun, excitement, does it hold peoples attention?
I really want to see this game go from weekly cg's ( really there should be ba lot more content beyond them and a lot more variation to what they involve) and people looking for old Myths and not finding anything except an empty dust ball with materials for engineers( sorry i dont like the engineer system and hope it gets a massive overhall) to a constant buzz to login to your cmdr pick up on something astonishing happening over in alioth, or another hint of a new alien race with a big twist or an ancient earth probe found that was kept secret. You know can i say one thing. I get how you are trying to keep the game realistic, i really do but reallistically it can be damn boring so you need to play with things look at and think of ideas based on science , theorys old sci fi books and there are a lot out there that make you go wow, they let the mind wander and think. that is what is needed in this game.
And finally remember one thing : Science needs science fiction and science fiction tends to become science fact.
**For the dev team to read and ponder / question, have and create ideas**
no more copy and paste we need more people to take time away from the busy world and internet to think things out , write them down ( you know pen and paper) play with it, toss it around and come up with the next Dune, Eon, Childhoods end, the moat in gods eye ( books), wow, guildwars and of course .... Elite ( yup games)
Please ladys and gentlemen i took time out from writing my book to make trhis post and would like you to really have a good look over this. you never know what could happen. (EUREKA!!)
