Continuous Server issues starting to put me off DW2

I'm also at WP3, but got there via a slightly less direct route. I dropped twice, but got back in right away, and had one longer jump.

But frankly, even if it had been worse... putting off DW2? That's subjective I know, but it would have to be a lot worse, to make me stop being part of what I class as, frankly a defining event in the game.

1. The server issues have been an ongoing problem since 3.3 drop.
2. Jumping into a system, scooping, FSSing and then jumping out and then disconnecting is a pain.
3. It becomes more of a pain when you log back in and find, you never scooped and never FSS'd
4. So you do it all again, jump, and disconnect again.
5. So you do it all again and then jump and sit in a twirly witch space for 50 secs, in VR, ready too puke, and 'FAILED TO CONNECT TO TRANSACTION SERVER'

DO that for 90 mins and then come back and tell me you still have the will to live never mind play a broken game on a badly implemented 3 decade old topology.

And what do we hear from Frontier? Nothing!

Played X4 last night, just didn't have the want to login to ED.

+1

Starting a session in VR is a proper engagement. Allocating enough time, choosing music, making myself comfortable... Only to be kicked from the server after 15 mins...

Well for the 3rd night in a row I was kicked out between 2000 - 2030hrs GMT.

I'm soo fed up with these poor server connections that the game runs with that once it kicks me, that's it I'm done for the night, I just close the game & do something else.

I'v said before, if Frontier don't/can't sort this out, it'll be the death of the game. It won't matter how good the game is, player's won't keep logging on if the servers keep kicking them off.

You are aware that you don't have to watch the witchspace for 50 seconds? Especially if you are prone to motion sickness. Just use your ears, the sound of either arriving or connection abort is quite distinguishable.
Hope that gives you some more will to live ;)

Apart from on the actual launch day of DW2, no issues for me.

Sorry for all the people who are having problems though.

So you want me to what? Sit there with my eyes closed? Are you for real? I've heard some really stupid solutions in my time but this is way up there!

And how does that excuse the ineptitude of Frontier to give us server stability?

So here is the tip, buy a gaming PC for 2000€, a VR Headset for 600€ and some Hotas for 120€. Now, to play ED best, close your eyes for half the time! *lol* I bet that advice won't by beaten by a certain other user.:D
@Sollisb: According to Brett C's post, those disconnects are related to server performance during peak load. Is peak load the new base load now?

They aren't running rampant. I'm not paying 1000$ a month for internet or anything, just have a basic package from the local ISP, and aside from the first launch of DW2 and a couple instances over the next day, haven't had any major issues with disconnects or lag. Have been doing all kinds of wing stuff, mining and racing and made a few hundred jumps since then on my way out to the next stop without any issues.

If your story is different than that, where you're having constant problems, it may not be an issue on FDev's end. Submit a bug report, check the forums for the myriad of helpful suggestions out there on making things better(like enabling IPV6) and best of luck to you.

What planet are you living on? Planet Denial?

HA! That's a laugh, next thing you are gonna say is that I should close my eyes while being ganked and let it all fade away!

Sorry folks, I was just thinking of all you weak stomach guys puking from watching witchspace in VR 😎
Personally I find it oddly soothing. But after some time I just take off the headset, do sthg else and wait until I can reconnect.

But I don't want to be the party pooper at your lovely Mimimi gathering, so just ignore it 😄😄

So a company makes a complete spherical objects of their game, and your answer is to do something else?

This is why these companies think they can get away with shadiness. 'Some' players allow them to.

I had quite a few disconnects last night (Tuesday) after several weeks of it being fine (Sunday evening aside, as always!). Before that I think the launch of DW2 was my only other disconnect

Frontier's own equipment is now the base load. :)
