Contoller Curves and Axis Binding

The only thing keeping me from fully ditching Windows is Elite Dangerous. The lack of built-in joystick curves requires me to use Windows only 3rd party software vJoy+JoystickCurves.

I also need to bind my G27 gas+clutch pedals into one axis, so as to use it as rudders (Yaw). This requires Windows only software vJoy+JoystickGremlin.

There are ways to hack these into Linux but after researching it, is a real PITA. Not somthing anyone should have to deal with.

So please add curves adjustments and wheel pedal axis binding to the controller options. Even letting us bind Clutch to left Yaw and Gas to right Yaw would help. As of now Yaw is only allowed as a single axis.

Twist joystick is garbage and aircraft rudder pedals are not an option since I simrace also and can't be switching pedals around. Thank you.

I'm not arguing with the point you're making about the axes, but I do wonder which joysticks gave you this impression. I've had experience with both bad and good. My VKB Gladiator EVOs are dead center with exactly zero drift. They have easily swappable variable tension springs which have not failed me in over 18 months of heavy play. Meanwhile, the X52s (formerly Saitek, now under Logitech ownership) I started with and which quickly broke within months are less than the plastic they're moulded from. Quite ironic given that the in-game stick and throttle models are based on the X52.

Hey g0, thx for the question. It's not the twist hardware itself that is bad, it's the twist joystick to yaw flying hunk of metal concept that I can't stand. I've played flight sims for decades so yawing an aircraft with anything else besides my feet just aint gonna happen.

My old G27, with axis linked pedals, works flawlesly. I actually prefer it to dedicated airplane rudder pedals. It only requires single foot movements, not both lower legs and it centers itself much faster.

So yeah Fdev. Help me Format C:\
