Hi Frontier, and my fellow commanders.
I have a few suggestions that I believe everyone will enjoy if they were to be implemented.
We all know that the world of Elite Dangerous is a vast and sometimes confusing place to be. There are many things to do, yet - some fundamental systems lacking that would thread all of these different activities together into something much more meaningful.
I propose three things:
Contracts - A meaningful, convenient and secure way for players to aid each other in a variety of ways. Whether it be agreeing to transport cargo for a fee, contract killing, or simply just trading a nice new ship to a brand new commander who has just joined you - it would add a much greater layer of convenience being able to conduct business and trade with players as you see fit. It would add a greater sense of immersion in a world (or galaxy) that already gives you so much freedom. Yes, this has been seen in other games like EVE, and by that we know that it works very very well. I hope you will agree and implement this change in a future patch.
Fleets - Call it a corporation, a guild, or a group. Whatever you call it, being part of a wing is really empowering. You and your friends can do so much more together than apart. But what if that experience was extended to many more people? What if you could form your own government? Your own society? By which your standards and those with whom you ally with align? There are many different kinds of people in the galaxy, but you are sure to find those that share your interests, aspirations and desires. Be it domination through force, trade, politics... Having a "fleet", a larger group of commanders with whom to fly and do so much more, would increase excitement and possibilities in the game and I think it would be really awesome to see that.
Accounts - No matter what we do, whether its peddling slaves, slaving away mining giant space rocks or killing anyone who does the other two... We all do it for money. Most of the time, anyway. Having a way to manage money more effectively would add a lot of interesting possibilities to the game. It would strengthen the current infrastructure of how the game currently operates and help to strengthen future features as well. It's painful to have to invite a friend to the game only to put him straight to work for his next ship. What if I could simply wire some funds into his account? Let him buy a better ship right away? Suffice it to say we all had to start at the beginning and there are certainly very valuable lessons to be learned by doing so. But I don't believe that this feature would break anything in the game at the moment, and would only serve to make things more convenient and fun.
Those are my 3 big suggestions. I am open to any feedback from my fellow commanders and I hope that you support these ideas as they would make awesome features in the game, and would keep me playing for a long time to come.
Thanks for your time
