Control D Question

Howdy....just curious about Control D. When I used to hit those keys after creating a "fence" it would give me a new object, and when I placed it, another would appear and it would all be part of the same building......now......it doesn't and I have to hit Control D again......creating an entirely new building. Because of this, I now have well over 1500 buildings in the game as each fence piece or lamp post is its' own separate building. Is this something that was changed during the last patch? Help! And thanks!

I think you have to make sure you click on your original building and then hit "edit" to remain in that specific grid before hitting Ctrl D, otherwise you will be duplicating objects into a separate grid outside of the original. I believe there will be a feature to "combine" scenery objects into one building grid, hopefully in the next alpha!

Does that make sense? Or was that not what you were talking about?

Thanks for the reply. What I was talking about was.....pre second patch, I was able to build a fence like structure...or lamp or whatever, and by getting out of the editor, I could click that object hit control D and a new one would appear and be rotatable.....as soon as I rotated and placed it, another would appear....add on infinitude. Now when I do the above steps, the object gets placed and then that's it.....no multiple appearances of the object.....meaning I now have a gazillion buildings in this park....before, I could place a hundred fences or benches or lamps and they would all be part of the same building......I now have to control D every time I place said object.....just curious if anyone else was having this issue. Remaining on the same grid isn't what I wanted and I think it may have been a glitch that they "fixed"......though I wish they hadn't.

Same Problem here. I`m new to the game though [big grin]
I couldn´t figure out how to add parts or remove parts
to a building.
