Control of the game with no mouse/keyboard?

Recently, I've hooked my PC up to my TV and have been doing a lot of gaming while laying on my bed. Before Elite D hits, I'll probably be getting an even larger screen so my question is will the game be playable only with a gamepad if you so desire? No biggie if it won't - I'll just have to do it the old fashioned way and sit up at my desk.

Not entirely true. Sure, for more in-depth communication that will be the case, but for simpler interactions this system will be implemented:

Preconfigured messages

• These will cover all common interactions between players like asking for assistance, offering trade and declaring piracy
• These will allow players to carry out deals and agreements quickly and easily by picking presets
• New preset options will arise from having higher reputation values in certain areas

And there's always the old, one missile for yes, two for no.

You're obviously limited to how many missiles you have, but in my experience these conversations are usually fairly short.
