Control Scheme

Hi all,

Newbie here. I recently tried Dangerous on the Xbox One previous and absolutely loved it. My PC is powerful enough to run the PC version on max so I would rather play it on there, however, I do not have a flight stick, track IR, etc... so would be playing with an Xbox One controller in any event.

Is it possible to use the XB1 control scheme (i.e. with the radial menus, etc...) on the PC version if you plug in a controller? Does anyone know whether a Kinect on the XB1 version will act as a head tracker?

Thanks! Looking forward to joining the community :D

Plenty of people play E: D on a PC using console controllers - David Braben for one. The XB1 control scheme is new, and has not hit the PC version yet. I don't expect it to hit the PC verion until CQC hits at the end of the year, as it is probably part of the Microsoft exclusivity deal.

You might want to contact support about which version to buy. If you buy a version for PC, you can also run it on Mac (and, presumably, eventually Linux). If you have the PC version, you cannot play on the XBox - presumably because of the way that deal is structured with Microsoft. What I have not seen answered anywhere is whether you can buy the XBox version, and then play on the PC or Mac. Worth asking, I would have thought.
