Newcomer / Intro Controler options help

Is it normal, that when I start the game and I go to option for controler, in my case Thrustmaster Hotas Warthog , and I choosed one of the profile again for the joystick after editing the profile

I play the game and back to the option to the controler, I see the profile back again to costum,

so my question is, when I am back to my option controler after playing or when in the game, which profile is it?

hope anyone can help me, I am struggling to use the profile controler, I am also new for this game.

I imagine that if you change one of the pre-set available configurations it will automatically create a "Custom" profile. Just keep using that one, no need to change it back each time you bring the Control Bindings up.

Someone might be able to confirm this, but I'm sure it 's the case.

Thanks for your reply I use the profile from the voice attack when I open it and edit it and apply it , so while I am playing I go back to controls, I see that it back to customs and when I changed that to my profile, I check which key I edit, it is gone, that makes me confuse.

You're confusing me by now throwing VA into your reply.

In Elite, when ever you open Controls to edit your bindings it'll be on the config you're currently using. There's no need to change to another one. Just edit the one that is listed, don't keep changing the profile, if that's what it's called.

I understand now about the controls so I do not need to come back to edit it,

Keep the controls as "custom", make all your changs in there and don't revert to the standard config. Just make sure the commands in your VA profile match the command bindings in your "custom" controller profile in ED (so if J= engage FSD for jumping between stars make sure it's the same command in your VA profile).
