Controllable FPV

It would be nice to have an option to take over a visitor, so we could control their movements to experience our zoo from a guest's perspective. I know the guest view is already in the game, but it is limited to what the AI decides to do (as far as i know)

Sorry, then what? It didn't do anything for me.

do it on a guest. name the guest tegidcam

this will allow you to control the camera using WASD, as well as that it puts the camera at the same height as the average guest is. so its a sort of fake FPV (this exact thing works also in planet coaster)

I posted it as it's own thread, but I desperately want a first person "staff mode". Sometimes the AI staff just don't seem to get the job done! especially with feeding. I'm not one to lose my temper with beta versions of games but when you spend hours grinding towards an animal only to have it starve to death because your keepers refuse to prepare any food for it, it really kicks the wind out of your sails. I have a couple of food trays in my zoo that have literally never been used by a keeper, and I once kept a pair of nile monitors alive exclusively by feeding them blood pumpkins for like 15 in game years only to have them starve to death when I forgot to replace them for a few minutes while building on 3x speed. I've lost grizzly bears, timber wolves, a mandrill, so many warthogs, a zebra, almost every nile monitor my zoo has ever had, and probably a few others that I don't remember off the top of my head. That's with 2 keepers zoned to each of my enclosures and 4 keepers unzoned. 18x level 2 zookeepers can't feed 7 enclosures properly at the moment, and I'd like to see an alternative for players

can pretty much tell you right now that its not going to happen.

lots of people asked first person view for planet coaster, and that doesn't have it so....

and yea sometimes AI staff dont get stuff done, thats why this is not the full release but the beta. which gives us a chance to find out that staff is broken and thus gives the devs a chance to fix it before the actual game releases.

I would also like to see a proper first person mode, without going through the hassle of renaming a staff member.
Preferably one where you can actually interact with stuff :)

It'd also be cool if we could do simple actions like we could in Zoo Tycoon 2. Being your own zookeper at times, entering habitats through the door and cleaning & filling your animals' food & water bows, brush/clean them, etc. It'd be a really cool & immersive feature to have... Also, I saw people complaining that the game simulation runs too fast and they can't get attached to any of their animals as they cycle quickly, this idea would help with that.

Planet Coaster is not an animal management game, so it doesn't REALLY call for a first person mode like this game does.

i agree with you to a certain extent. people really want this feature since zoo tycoon 2. but zoo tycoon 1 still has better reviews. and is stil the more loved game, even though it did not have a first person view.

and yea planet coaster is not an animal management game, its a coaster tycoon game, just like planet zoo, is actually a zoo tycoon game. still people really wanted first person view in planet coaster, where they could walk trough their park. stand in line, and get in their own made roller coasters. still the game doesn't have first person, which is why i said this game probably wont have first person either.

there will be the fake first person mode, which allows you to walk trough the park trough the eyes of a guest. but you wont be able to interact with stuff like in zoo tycoon 2

also no tycoon games "call for first person mode" maybe shooters, and survival games "call for a first person" or third person view, but not tycoon games, in a tycoon game a first person mode is a fun added Gimmick and not something that is required for it to be a good tycoon game

Each one has their needs. I, personally, don't care for first person mode in pCoaster besides the "fake" one, that's enough for ME. Just being able to ride my attractions is totally enough. I don't feel like I need true first person to stand in line or go to an attraction's entrance to fix it being broken. So... you can ride your coasters and with the "cheat" you can walk in your park... that's really enough for pCoaster, which is not a game where you need to "care" -- not like when taking care of animals.

Now, even though pZoo is very similar to pCoaster, it does have completely different concepts, approaches, etc, because of being an animal management and care game. Their ideas for this to be an educational game to some extent and all REALLY calls for a first person staff mode. Sorry, but it definitely does. It'd be a waste If they don't add that to this game specifically, even if it doesn't come in the full release but later on.

Also, ZT1 is an isometric - and old - game, which makes it obvious why it didn't have anything close to a first person mode. That's not really an excuse, lol.

i mentioned zoo tycoon 1, because generally if you look today, on Youtube, Google, Blogs, whatever. people seem to be pretty much in agreement that zoo tycoon 1 was the superior game, and the first person view in zoo tycoon 2 was nothing more then a gimmick.

in zoo tycoon 2, yes you can water your own animals, and feed them, and brush them. but the NPC zoo keepers would do the same thing, twice as fast. basically making the first person view useless other then using it to walk around your own park in first person, which is something planet zoo already has trough the "tegidcam" guest name.

On ZT2 wasn't a big deal, but in this game it can be and that's why it's been brought up. People need to tell them they want it and give a reason good enough for that to be implemented in the game, and sorry, but although it'd be cool to have it in pCoaster, the reasoning to implement it there isn't as strong as it is for pZoo. As I said, this game is a caring and educational game and a first person staff mode suits perfectly the view they have for it. No need to so be negative telling everyone 'hur they didn't do it in pCoaster so they won't do it with pZoo either hur', just let people express their feelings and wishes in peace, no matter if they actually do it or not.
It's a game currently in BETA and guess what? We're on the WISHLIST section for it. Let people be, chill.

I also want a 1st person mode - and one that is not hidden as an easter-egg. (I never remember this "cheat code")

Just the ability to admire our own creations first hand, which many spent a lot of time to make real. Or Steam WS zoos other players have created.
Interactions are not neccesary, imo. They would require way too much additional coding time.

Instead of interactions, I would love VR support, though. Just for the 1st person part, mind you, not the actual zoo building & managing. And from Elite: Dangerous, I know that the Cobra engine is very capable to provide this.
