Newcomer / Intro Controller Input Focus Misplaced, Remedied by Left Shift Key

Hello,

Sometimes it seems my controller's input focus is not where I want it to be. Pressing the left shift key brings it back where it should be. For example, there have been times where I could not fire weapons. At one time focus was on the comms panel when I landed, instead of starport services. I fixed the latter in the controller setting menu-thingy, but I don't know where the misconfiguration for the non-firing of weapons is. I'm using a Thrustmaster control stick; I don't recall the model and I'm not at home to check.

Controller focus is called "head look". Look for that in the mapping and unassign it from the button you keep hitting by mistake.

Non-firing of weapons could be a multitude of things. Are your hardpoints deployed, are you in SC, have you assigned fire groups correctly? It could be as simple as your guns come out from the bottom of your ship but the target is above you (bullets can't pass through your ship to hit the target so they won't fire - try rolling 180 or keep the target slightly above centre).

We'll need a bit more info to go on.
