Controller Profiles: Save them? Share them? Multiple?

Is there a way to save controller profiles? I'm not seeing them. I'd also like a way to share them or export them so if something happens to my installation I'll be able to restore them easily without having to go through the myriad of combinations and trying to remember exactly how I had everything set.

Is this even slightly possible in any capacity right now?

Thanks!

Look here and back up custom.binds if yours is non-standard:

C:\Users\*username*\AppData\Local\Frontier Developments\Elite Dangerous\Options\Bindings

It might be in Roaming instead of Local and AppData is a hidden folder. Standard bindings are found here:

C:\Program Files (x86)\Frontier\EDLaunch\Products\FORC-FDEV-D-1002\ControlSchemes

Be careful. The bindings files have identifiers specific to your device, if you bind from multiple devices (say joystick and mouse) then only people with the same hardware will be able to load it.

Yes, or if you don't trust a digital backup of your bindings file you could write it down on paper (like in the old days...)

lol oh man, see that something like this has to exist points to what would probably be a pretty nice addition to the game :p

So, it looks like there -is- no way to do multiple custom profiles without manually swapping them out yourself – I suppose I could always backup the default and save my -own- settings as the default key bindings and that would give me the "custom" profile as at least a secondary profile. Hrm. I'll have to play with it and see if that's even possible. Thanks Tiamat and Splette, much appreciated!

Oddly my backed up custom bindings don't work with some launcher updates - it's hit or miss. Thankfully it only takes a minute or two to remap a controller. But when it does work it's your top folder location that I put them into...

Huh. I'm finding now that if I duplicate a binds file and rename it, it now shows up in the drop down of configurations available for me to choose from in the Options setting. I've already added three custom sets – not sure what kind of limit there is.

Neither of those locations exist on my computer. I DO have a Frontier Development/Elite Dangerous file under my *username* account, but it is empty. The other file simply does not exist. No "Frontier" file under Program Files (x86). I would really love to save my bindings, too, as it was a pain in the ass to remap them after the first update.

There wouldn't be a way for FD to upgrade the game without us having to do all of our bindings all over again, would there?

I use a XBOX360 controller, and my bindings never save. The default Gamepad profiles are not good enough for me, so I have to redo the mappings every time I start the game. :(

I do not have any bindings files in my appdata. I have played since Gamma, but not used the gamepad until post-launch. If the game saved bindings before, it's surely not doing it anymore...
