Newcomer / Intro Controller to sensitive

Using an Xbox controller and in custom mode for bindings. Is their a single binding or two that would slow down the sensitivity of my two sticks especially when docking. Ihave a tendency to over correct especially practicing docking. I do utilize auto docking for my courier missions but want to get proficient with manual. Now I know their is practicing involved but was wondering if I might be overlooking something obvious in my bindings. Thx in adv.

I don't think it will help with sensitivity but there are two further flight control "sets" available to you in Options / Controls - Alternate Flight Controls and Landing Override - the first requires the use of a toggle / hold button the second comes into play automatically when your landing gear is extended (if you have anything bound to the controls that is).

Apart from that - you can always use your pips to help - zero pips when docking gives slowest speeds - maybe that will help.

Hiya, im also using xbox controller and had this same issue when landing for the first few times. Sounds like you're landing using 'standard' flight control mode where left and right on the control stick controls yaw (rotate) making lining up to the landing near impossible as you'll be using main engines only. Click the control stick to switch to 'alternative' controls - in this mode left and right uses the thrusters to strafe rather than rotating you, this is what you need to be able to line up properly

Do you actually click the left stick while in flight to get to the alternative controls? I thought you had to go to the options for ship controls menu to change any flight controls?

Yes, the default mapping is to click the left control stick to switch between the 2 control modes - its pretty easy to miss. When you click it you'll see a message in the info panel (by the time) confirming which mode has been switched to. Its worth noting that Alt mode isnt useful during normal flight - the sidewards thrusters arent powerful enough to noticably move you except at the very low speeds involved with docking

Default mapping will also have 'look around mode' activated by clicking the right stick - less useful but also good to know for observing scenery
