Controls???

Haven't played in a few months. Been waiting for the release.
Just logged in and no matter what settings I place my mouse on, I'm having to spamming it in whatever direction just to move the cockpit a tiny bit in space.

Why have they changed this? Used to be so fluid before. How can I get the old type of sensitivity with my mouse?

Thanks.

Would seem the mods aren't answering any support related questions on the forums for fear of others winning that elite status reward lol

Hehe. :D
Try raising the mouse sensitivity in Windows, instead, if the game's slider won't work.

It is definitely a weird issue, though. Try the usual IT stuff, I'd say. Plug the mouse into different USB slot, change the battery if it's wireless, etc.

I swear it used to keep moving the ship without having to keep moving the mouse. Now it seems I'm having to move my mouse off the mouse mat, reposition it and move it again, and again and again.

I'm a complete noob so this may be complete rubbish, but could it be flight assist/the other thing like it? I read someone saying that flight assist stops you continuing to move in a direction if you stop moving that way, maybe it does it for mouse as well as stick?

Beyond that, where's your joystick?!?

I think there is a setting that lets you choose between relative and absolute motion or something like that, check the mouse control settings in Elite :)

Thanks for the reply Lucas. I'll check for flight assist. I'm not sure it's anything to do with the Z key that let's you keep moving without thrust.

I'm an Original Elite player form the early 80s. Never had joysticks in those days, so I just don't like using them now.

Thanks Viking, I'll have a check for the relative and absolute settings.

Yeah, relative mouse has and x and y setting and also a relative resoponse, it auto centres the mouse so could be a probable cause
