Convoluted log in

The user experience of logging into ED is convoluted. As it is, the gamer has to click the ED game icon, DO NOT CLICK play, click login, verify that his/her credentials are still there, click login AGAIN, select Elite Dangerous, and THEN select play.

Wouldn't it be cleaner to simply display the credentials and state login and play - all on the first screen? After all, the combat missions are available in the game itself.

it must take a whole 3 or 4 seconds. a whole second or so more then starting a steam game

It's a game requiring a server connection, seems only logical to sign in. Sorry.

First off maybe my PC is special but i dont have to select Elite Dangerous everytime.

You mean this oposed to other games where you click game icon, click play,verify his/her credentials are still there, click login?

I agree, the launcher could be made much better. The easiest thing to do would be to make playing elite the default selection rather than single player combat training.

Again i truly love my computer cause in my computer the default selection is playing elite.
The only thing i saw some1 mention and i think could improve the launcher imo was to close it automatically after game launches.

Double click icon

Click 'Log In'
Click 'Log In'
Click 'Play'

The only change needed would be change the second 'log in' label to 'Submit'. It remembers you want the main game, I was never even aware that these WERE changeable until i clicked it one day.


You could have a login box and password box on the front page with 'Login' next to it, but i don't see an issue with the way it is now.

All I do is click the elite icon, click login once, click play.

I dunno why yours is broken, but it's definitely a problem only on your computer.
