I have an idea for a mission I think would be great for immersion and role play.
It might also offer a unique challenge for say... a federal navy mission, or a well paying one which you can only receive at a certain rank within a superpower.
I've seen new scripted gameplay with the tutorials, which I think is great, and it gave me hope that things like this may be possible, in the interest of improving the variety and complexity of missions as core gameplay content.
Say there's a Type 9 and 2x Eagles. The mission would be to escort the trader to his destination.
During the journey, the convoy is attacked by pirates, and you gain a bonus on ships you kill & protect respectively.
Its a good opportunity for more scripted comms chatter, or voice acting.
You might even be able to build up relationships with certain NPC characters, and do follow-on missions: Mining escort, Bounty Hunting, Exploration, rescuing their escape pods or avenging their deaths.
