Powerplay Faction: Arissa Lavigny-Duval Cooperation Between Player Factions in ALD Space

I am interested to find out what others think of the following idea. Although this isn’t going to reach everyone who might be interested by me posting here, I do think that the ALD Powerplay Player Factions have a lot to gain if this is something that we can arrange.

We now have a number of Player Factions with home worlds in ALD space. I was wondering what people thought of the idea of setting up some form of online meeting place where such Player Factions could communicate with each other. This would be setup to aid in sharing information and facilitating cooperation between such groups and maybe setting up some locally run events.

I think that pretty soon some of the different Factions are going to start running into each other and there is a lot that could be accomplished if we worked together. There is also a lot of potential for needless misunderstandings and even outright antagonism on all sides if we are not careful.

All groups would still be able to decide their own destinies and this would not be restricted to those Factions who are actively involved in Powerplay. To work it would need to be open to all Factions with home worlds in ALD Space. I think that a lot of these Factions may well have no real organised involvement in Powerplay. Which means they may not understand just what a negative impact that the activities they undertake could potentially have on ALD.

At first the form that such a meeting place would take could be very simple. Just one or more threads in this or another suitable sub-forum on the ED Forums. Over time it may change into something more involved, a separate bulletin board or subreddit, but that could only happen if there was a genuine and prolonged interest.

So what do people think?

The idea would be to allow the different Player Factions to cooperate on anything, it wouldn't have to be Powerplay related. I do think the Powerplay related factions though would benefit though.

Indeed, I support the initiative wholeheartedly. One of the largest problems in ALD (and likely most or all Powers) is the lack of communications Power-wide. I think most of the player groups use other communication channels (Reddit/Teamspeak/Slack/Etc) for their day to day comms, and huge strides are being made in forging contacts between those groups right now.

Still, we have no real estimate of all the groups involved, and the introduction of PG minor factions led to a great deal of "Who's that now?" (among those of us tasked with monitoring the BGS situation) for several weeks after 1.4. Many of them, by gov't type or other information, seem to be non-Powerplay oriented, and at least some are deliberately non-communicative for various reasons.

For those who are interested in working together, we are here, we are there, and we would be entirely happy to make contact. Even if you're just seeking information (I am fortunate to serve in the EliteLavigny mod team with some of the most awesomely knowledgeable people on Powerplay and the game in general), we look forward to hearing from you.

Yep, there are people talking about it, and then there are people doing something about it. Glad to see there are some in the latter category.
