Copying "visited stars" database from one PC to another ?

I run ED on two PCs, and I notice that the Galaxy Map shows different visited stars on each PC.

I do recall reading somewhere that the visited stars database is held in a separate database, so does anyone know if it's possible to copy / merge / update the visited stars across both PCs ?

Cheers o7

You can import arbitrary systems into that cache, but I don't know if you can just copy the file wholesale to another machine.

Search under "%LOCALAPPDATA%\Frontier Developments\Elite Dangerous" for a file named "visitedstarscache.dat" and try putting it into the equivalent location on the other machine, just back up the existing file before.

Have a look in here:
C:\Users\<your name>\AppData\Local\Frontier Developments\Elite Dangerous

There are some numbered folders in here. They may be specific to the Cmdr so look in all of them.

For me on two PC's, in the one called 2412677 I have two files:
VisitedStarsCache.dat
RecentlyVisitedStars.dat

Unfortunately they are not text files so it would not be easy to merge the files but I don't see why you couldn't copy the files to another PC.

Edit: Ninja'd whilst doing research.

If you add a file called "ImportStars.txt" to that folder with system names, one per line, then start the game it will import those systems to the local visited stars cache.

Assuming you are using something like EDD or EDSM creating such a file to sync the two should be easy enough.

Perfect ... found the ImportStars.txt thread from back in 2016 ... and EDSM have an "export to ImportStars.txt" feature ... simples :)
