Corbin's Challenge - need help surveying blue giant near Ultima Centauri

In my travels along the Sagittarius-Carina spial arm I discovered an alluring system on the GalMap - apparently a blue giant or supergiant.

It is however beyond the range of my 33,3LY pre-engineering AspX, but might be reachable by a ship with longer range.

The location is Phrae Prau YE-A E0.

If one of you good people do manage to reach it please leave a note in the Sagittarius-Carina thread :)

Doesn't seem to be especially hard to reach though I'm quite far from it so I cam't help.

Hmmm...I am currently heading to Colonia from surveying a sector in the Fallows. I have done almost the whole mission on economic route plotting, so am kind of itching to spread my wings for a bit. I have a 58ly max range on my AspX, so I think I may switch to fastest route, stop in and say a quick Hello to Jaques, and take you up on this.

Arrive back in Colonia last night and decided to spend the next day selling data to all the minor factions there to become allied with all of them. As soon as I am done with that, I'll be on my way. Likely should have this one bagged by the end of the weekend at the very latest.

Excellent :)

Is it out of reach of Jumponium with that jump range? Any nearby Neutron stars? (caution getting back may be a problem) :D

You will have to do the closer calculations yourself. It was out of range of my 33,3 LY AspX with my available jumponium boosts (I had no level 3 boosts) - but a cursory investigation of nearby stars on the galmap indicated that a handful of jumps in the 50-70 LY range is probably required. But please note that I did not make exact measurements or calculations. My impression is that while the system was out of range for me, it should not be impossible to reach with engineering and jumponium.

I departed last night, and am about 38,000ly out now, so making it by weekends end should be no problem. I glanced around the area, and likewise made no manual calculations, but eyeballing it based on other remote places I have been, I should be able to make it no problems. Your 50-70ly range is a reasonable estimate.

I am still on my way. I am in the process of getting over bronchitis, and that has really slowed me down, in addition to finding a particularly helium rich boxel about 10kly out that I have stopped to survey. 76 systems that I estimate when all scanned, will have about 250 HRGG's.

There is no rush. I already think it is amazing that you are traveling all the way from Jaques in order to survey that system.

Good luck with your helium-hunt :)

Quite the full system. I did have to trim back on my fuel a bit to reach it. After poking around in the map a bit to choose a route, the longest jump was a manual plot of 54ly, so no jumponium needed.

It looked correct to me for a luminosity class III B star. I know it's not the one you were looking for specifically, but I poked around a bit and found a Red Giant for you that wasn't too far away...

Notice the coordinates on this...well over 1800ly below the plane way out under the outer edge of the Sag-Carina arm. Took a few jumps and boosts that were on fumes. Some of the trickiest plotting I have done.

Very nice! and well done!
