I'm lost, disillusioned and feel the dark side calling my name. Look I love ED I really do been waiting for this game for 30 years.

Powerplay aside, the game in a lot of ways is broke, at least for me it is, from the stutters, to connection issues, unable to wing up with my friends let alone send them an in game text, I could list 10 more items but no need. I log in tonight hoping the latest patch fixed some issues that I have, so I run a quick trade route to see if anything is better only to find out that when I sold my 276 tons of Palladium my rep with a minor allied faction went down. Yet I have the distinct memory of reading this morning's patch notes stating rep rank was fixed. So selling goods is now bad? I don't get it...

I have been patient, and I understand things take time, been around a long time so I get that, but when you can't play a game that you really want to play I guess for me is just a major buzz kill. I am not a big complainer on the forums aside form dirty canopy windows ( pet peeve) just forget powerplay for a few days and fix the core game mechanics otherwise powerplay = useless anyways.

What to do, what to do.. I could take a break and play something else...but I don't want to I want to be in space and zipping around...

Yea I appreciate the suggestion, and not to be a negative nelly but the stuttering kills the immersion joy that exploring gives sometimes its so bad (major vs micro) that it makes me overshoot a destination and that as you know adds to the frustration.

I'm a big elite fan as well that's why I don't play elite dangerous. I paid a lot of money on kick starter and I don't want to waste time while its unfinished. I may start playing next year.

I guess that's the crux of the situation, I ate from the plate and was overjoyed and want more but can't have. Had I not ever entered into space probably whole diff story.

Oh yea much testing on my end, all to no avail and have figured out it is not us, gaming rigs, routers etc. not on our end..

I'm actually in the middle of working on a suggestion thread on the very subject of balanced profession mechanics. It's taken me several days to make everything presentable and there are still some things i have to iron out but it should be posted around 6am Saturday UK time.

The name of the thread is Balance Core Mechanics haha seeing your thread pop up made my heart skip a beat... i've been working on the post in the "preview thread" mode to work out the kinks and thought maybe i accidentally published it haha

I rarely notice stuttering any more.
I think that if it is caused by loading planetary surface textures then anything that speeds up hard disk access times would help.
I have the game on a separate physical hard drive from the Operating System and have set quite a large value for memory paging.
I don't know that it helps but I hope.

There has been server issues for since Monday
Still suffering from the stuttering and disconnection problems plus the very long loading times between windows (powerplay screen took 30 seconds to come up once clicked)
Seems like 1.3.1 and 1.3.2 to taken the game back several steps so I urge FD to roll back the 2 patches and least give us 1.3 which played smoothly
Until such times I cannot play as it plays like playing in treacle

Yeah, 1.3 broke a lot of stuff and each patch just breaks/nerfs even more. I've given up on the PowerPlay-with-yourself-in-Solo-and-Dominate merit garbage and will now concentrate on killing other players because it seems that's the only thing worth doing now.

They really need a separate save/background sim for solo/groups and one for Open.

Sorry you have had issues and this will be little help to you at all but since 1.3 I have had zero issues regarding stutter. Further more even before then it was not as bad as your experiences. I play in vr too where every stutter is magnified 10 fold.

Have you tried solo? I know it is no long term solution esp if you are a social gamer but the only tim e I do get issues is when I am connected to to many people. At the very least it will rule out network issues. (I do not know where the elite server is for the UK but as I am just down the road from frontiers offices I suppose I must be close.)

I'm getting the same stuttering especially in RES sites even though my FPS is over 100. About every 60 sec I get a tiny lag spike. It totally kills the immersion. At one point I only got the stuttering near ringed planets and never in the RES sites but now it is very noticeable. I'm convinced this will never get fixed as it is a Peer to Peer issue.
