can anyone help me i am just trying to get into core mining (only been playing a week) and every you tube vid when they use the pulse wave it look nice and smoth (and they can see wich core they would like to go for) and mine looks like it is in 8 bit rez mode i have the graphice set to ultra the only thing i found that made it any better was to set the supersampling to 2.0 (as high as it will go) but still strugle to see anthink other that a set of box's

Regardless of your graphics settings, knowing what a core asteroid looks like is a matter of experience.
Have you watched the tutorials really?
What you are showing here looks like normal way of how the game shows worthless asteroids...
I suggest you watch the tutorial made by Commander @Exigeous (who is also the author of the picture above):

(1) Use night vision, even if you are not in the dark patch of the ring.
(2) Look for really bright yellow asteroids on PWA that changes colour as you get closer. You get green/black central colours.
(3) Learn to recognise the shape of core asteroids. In Icy rings they look like popped popcorn and in Rocky rings are tear drop shaped.
(4) Practice. Takes a while to get your eye in and you waste a few prospectors on the way. By my third run I was getting good at recognising cores, but you get better all the time.
