Core or Elite Rank

Whichever comes first. I have my exploration vessel all ready to go, including some extras I may never need, but I'll be glad I have them if I do. Behold the FNS Scarecrow Boat:

I'm taking my time, a meandering route using a website to locate high value targets:

My first Earth-Like along this path:

Leaving the base at Mammon, pretty view:

I'm currently about 2500ly from the bubble and finding many undiscovered systems already. A lot of systems with undiscovered planets/moons on the outskirts. I tag some and leave some for others to tag.

Fly safe commander!

Just FYI, the ELWs on Spansh are all aready discovered and tagged. It's nice for R2R but eventually you'd like to find your owns. Which isn't that hard, especially from 2500 ly out of the bubble. And tagging untagged bodies yields 50% additional reward, so it's good for your rank as well.

Just nitpicking here: If scanned and uploaded to edsm/eddb, then spansh will know about the ns. It doesn't have to be tagged, ie. sold. That means that using spansh, scanning the ns and be the first to sell it will get you the tag.

I know, I was hesitating to add this but the chances are so low that a EDDB-known Body is untagged I didn't want to send anyone on a quest to tag one of those, so I just ignored that Point. You'll be quicker looking for untagged ELW in the EDDB-unknown black. True point though.

Point taken. I made it to Attenborough last night. I thought I should head in a random direction for awhile before getting back on R2R. It would be nice to tag my own elw on this trip.

If Attenborough's Watch is this big, this guy's wrist must be huge...

Not only is the probability of it being untagged low, but if it is untagged, you're potentially sniping it out from under another CMDR (the one who actually discovered it). Between the two, I would think it's a relatively poor way to look for things to tag. Especially when you consider that all you need to do is plot a course through the neutron fields yourself, using the in-game course plotter, and you'll find a nearly endless supply of untagged neutrons, which will then add to the third party tools as you discover them (assuming that you're submitting them). ;)

Untagged Earth-Like-Worlds are very rare. I did found several at random on the trips that took me well beyond the Bubble, at least 5'000 Ly away.

I also find it's well worth my time to scan High-Metal-Content and Water-Worlds that are potential Terraforming candidates. Those are found more often and usually make the bulk of my exploration data reward in credits. They are also less likely to already be tagged.

Good luck and have fun on your trip.

BTW, don't bother FSD-boosting of off White Dwarves. It's just not worth the risk. :D

Question about that: I already have the ED market connector utility running in the background. Do I have to do something else to upload my discoveries?

Made it to Observation Post Epsilon tonight. Spansh is definitely overestimating the value of the data. I hit each target on the list plus extras and I still come under the estimate by about 3 mil.

Here's my first fully claimed system, now with my name on it:

Bleia Dryiae kw-w b21-0

The best chance to find undiscovered system comes from the jumps in between the R2R roadmap. Thus I set my radius to 200ly to get some good jumps.

You'll find many more undiscovered systems if you go off the beaten path. If it's credits you're looking for, hurrying via neutron stars - and especially via already-discovered ones! - is one of the worst solutions. Plus you did say that you're taking your time. So, I'd recommend setting your star filter to A, F - or if the route won't plot then, AFG(K). You'll find many more WWTCs, and ELWs even, and with the first discovery bonus, they'll be worth even more.
You know, blaze your own trail.

Found my first undiscovered demon world today:

EDSM gave me a badge for discovering an ELW but I dont remember when or where that happened. Is there a way to look that up in EDSM?

After Observation Post Epsilon I sidestepped the R2R by about 2,000ly and set my cross hairs on Colonia. Its been a very interesting journey. Every system I jump into is undiscovered, which is exactly what i wanted. I set the filter to "F" class stars so every 5th jump or so yields good planets to scan. Early example on that stretch:

I know its a good system if its less than 20 bodies. 20-30 maybe something good. 50-80 bodies usually means a bunch of gas giants and moons. I'm to the point where I just move on from systems unless there is WW, ELW or AW to scan.

Currently, I'm about 19k ly from the bubble. 35 jumps to Colonia.

My first undiscovered ELW. This system also has a WW and AW

My first undiscovered Ammonia World. It seems AWs are rarer than WW but not worth as much. They have the same icon as ELW but they looked clouded over in the system map.

On my way back to the bubble. Taking a break in my SRV somewhere at the midpoint along the way:

Only about 250 jumps and I'm back home.
