There's one at Biggle Dock (snigger) in MCC 549. Never seen a variation on the Coriolis before.

It's not the only one with the "hammers of doom".
Back in beta I chugged out of one of those in my fully-laden T6, turned around to look for my next jump. Out of the corner of my eye I saw something moving outside the lovely, glass cockpit. Upon closer inspection, it was one of those arms! "Erk, better move out of the way of that..." *BOOM*.
If you are at one of those stations, remember when you leave to go straight out of the letterbox and keep on going for a couple of minutes before doing anything!
The idea is you get roughly 1g in the "hammerheads"... good for industry or residences. Don't get hit.![]()

Are you sure? I think the 1g point is somewhere around the surface of the station.

I thought the point of these was to provide an extreme gravity environment for separation (useful for things like creating enriched Uranium, for example).
They're also excellent for smacking Sidewinders and teaching them to pay attention while docking.
Nope, the coriolis stations are about the same size as the central section of the orbis stations. The small rings on the orbis are 0.5g and the large (habitation) rings are 1g. The docking bays on both the coriolis and orbis are only 0.3g on the pads and of course 0g on the central axis. The hammerheads have about the same length between them as the diameter of the habtation rings, thus 1g.
You're right, but doesn't the Coriolis rotate faster?
