Corvette Fuel scooping?

Hi,

Anyone else noticed real heat issues when fuel scooping in a Corvette? Both methods of zero throttle in the corona and zipping around the star seem to result in a heat increase of 2-5% every second...

Probably a powerplant issue. I have 6A scoops on both a Beluga and a Cutter, and despite the Beluga's reputation for running hot, the Cutter is noticeably worse when scooping: probably because I have a g2 armoured PP in the Beluga and a Guardian PP in the Cutter (which I will eventually replace).

Just to add.. I swapped the powerplant to different ships(conda etc) and it behaves as it should, so I don't think it's the PP that's the issue..

I was at Rohini in a 20ly vette when the patch hit, and just got back to the bubble about five minutes ago.

Scooped about five hundred times since the patch in my vette, noticed no issues or changes.

Always depends on how deep you go and how your powerplant is engineered.

And how much load it's under.
And, of course, what type of star it is.

My Cutter always used to suffer from heat (I've changed the build now) but I mitigated the problem by disabling a bunch of modules when I was doing a significant amount of travelling in it.
Course, this isn't exactly the best time to suggest that. 😕

+EDIT+

FWIW, my Corvettes have G4/G5 overcharged PPs, both with Thermal Spread and neither had any problems scooping (prior to the update, at least).
IIRC, they're both fitted with a 7A scoop, though, to minimise the time I need to spend getting toastie.

Took mine to Colonia over last 2 days with a 6A scoop and no issues here.

Turned off a lot of modules that weren't required whilst travelling (SB's/SCB's/Shields)

Was very much an A to B run so quick honk and scoop as I traversed the fuel star then jump - regularly went over 80% but not by too much

Can't say that I noticed a change with my Federal Corvette when fuel scooping; I use an armored power plant, which is rather cool running to start with. What mod are you running Shan?

God rolled legacy G5 OC(+44% power and +40% heat) , with no experimental mods ..

I can kinda work around it shoving a 7A Fuel scoop on it, which fills up before the ship toasts but that feels like a band aid

The thing is.. pre patch it was fine, with no issues. Now it's a pita. So something has changed in the corvette heat profile, as I don't get the same issues when swapping the same power unit to say an Anaconda..

Did some more testing. Brought a new 8A powerplant OC'd it to grade 5 and added thermal spread so it's +40% power -12.5% heat.. The heat still goes up faster than it used to pre patch...

I can’t remember the last time I scooped in my ‘vette. I can’t remember the last time I flew my ‘vette for that matter.
